तत्कर्म यन्न बंधाय सा विद्या या विमुक्तये।
आयासायापरम कर्म विद्यान्या शिल्पनैपुणम।। – श्री विष्णुपुराण
That is to say, only those actions that do not create bondage are true actions, and the knowledge that paves the way for liberation is true wisdom. All other actions are merely forms of labor, while other forms of knowledge are just skills.
Indian sages and philosophers have described knowledge (vidya) as a means for human liberation. Humanity has long desired freedom from fear, hunger, diseases, negative tendencies, bad conduct, weakness, degradation, illness, sorrow, and so on. The above statement from the Srivishnu Purana conveys the message that one should strive for liberation from all sufferings through knowledge. The attainment of knowledge is the fruit of renunciation and penance, and thus, gaining knowledge is always a laborious endeavor.
Let us all be disciplined and dedicated, utilizing all available resources responsibly to earn knowledge. By incorporating appropriate diet, recreation, and thoughts into our daily routines, let us nurture and blossom our inherent infinite potential as individuals in the light of the sacred energy of knowledge.
Every morning during the prayer assembly in our schools, we recite this verse from the Taittiriya Upanishad of the Krishna Yajurveda:
ॐ सह नाववतु सह नौ भुनक्तु, सह वीर्यम करवावहै।
तेजस्वि नावधीतमस्तु मा विद्विषावहै, ॐ शान्तिः शान्तिः शान्तिः।।
Let us understand the profound message hidden in this verse and embody it in our lives through our daily actions. I extend my heartfelt wishes to all the principals, teachers, students, officials, and staff of the Gurugram division and wish for a successful and prosperous future for everyone.
